Emotional
Freedom Technique (EFT)
Cindy uses the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in tandem with her counseling services.
It is a tapping system by which the client taps on acupuncture pressure points to help relieve emotional distress and physical
symptoms. It also assists clients in managing their feelings. EFT minimizes learned and instinctual responses. These instinctual
responses are physical, emotional or habitual thoughts. By “tapping out” the instinctual responses, we live with
an increased awareness of ourselves and our responses to the world. This awareness allows us to calm ourselves and, with practice,
remain in that state regardless of what we are experiencing or thinking. When we tap out the interruption triggered by memories,
thoughts or traumas, we relax and feel peaceful. Our bodies can store these memories, feelings, thoughts or beliefs as pain
or symptoms such as indigestion, headaches, or fatigue. When we have a history of traumatic experiences we often ignore our
bodies’ signals until disease occurs.
These methods can be used without a practitioner on a daily basis. Clients, having practiced in
sessions, are able to use the tapping method to clear themselves of an issue and move into a calmer state.

Combination therapy
Cindy has created a unique energy stress management approach
by combining EFT and HeartMath, another service she offers. This approach is used during sessions with clients as a personal self-management system. It
combines EFT with the emWave machine that indicates if the feelings or experiences being brought up by tapping are putting
the patient into stressful or calm states as indicated by the machine's red, blue and green lights.
